Kiara Lyons, Ph.D. (c), MPH, CPH (she/her/hers) serves as a Public Health Project Coordinator. She is the primary coordinator for the Institute for Equity in Birth Outcomes, which is one of the three projects under the BEST Cities Initiative. She was awarded her MPH, with a concentration in Epidemiology, from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Her passion centers around re-evaluating surveillance and methodological efforts for underserved populations, with a special interest in mental health. She brings a variety of experiences from academic research, community-based organizations, and local health agency. Her long-term goal is to help improve the relationships between public health practice, research, and communities in efforts to appropriately address racial and health inequities.
In her spare time, Kiara enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and spending quality time with her husband Jason and their son Kayden.
Join us for the 2021 CityMatCH Leadership and MCH Epidemiology Conference, in New Orleans, LA.
