Training Course in Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology

The Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and CityMatCH offer a Training Course in MCH Epidemiology as part of their ongoing effort to enhance the analytic capacity of state and local health agencies. This national training course is aimed primarily at professionals working in state, territorial, county and local health agencies who have significant responsibility for collecting, processing, analyzing, and reporting maternal and child health data. The intensive training combines lectures, discussion, hands-on exercises, and opportunities for individualized technical assistance. Participation in this course is determined by a selective application process. The training course’s competitive application period is announced in January, and all applicants will be notified of status by early spring. The training consists of pre-webinars (beginning in early summer), one-week onsite training (summer), and post webinars (fall). Accepted applicants are awarded a scholarship to cover the cost of the training and hotel lodging.
