Conference Theme

The theme of the 2013 CityMatCH Annual Urban MCH Leadership Conference is "Nothing but the Best: Quality and Innovation in Urban MCH." Participants can expect a unique combination of sessions demonstrating evidence-based and evaluated MCH programs alongside trailblazing and ground-breaking initiatives.
Plenary and keynote sessions will lead the way.
Through our exceptional combination of skills-building and oral/poster abstract sessions, participants will engage in a transformative exchange of experiences, knowledge, and new ideas for promoting and improving the health of women, children, and families. We emply a variety of presentation styles to foster adult learning in a fun, engaging and open-minded environment. Expect sessions to take place in both traditional and non-traditional formats.

Sessions will be led by public health leaders at every level and sphere of influence: from federal officials, representatives from state and local MCH programs, health care providers, scientific researchers, to MCH advocates whose work bridges numerous disciplines and sectors.

What should conference participants expect to understand after this year’s Conference?
  • Impact of the Affordable Care Act upon federal, state, and local public health
  • Quality, innovation, and the winnable battles
  • Strategies to enhance programmatic reach and impact
  • Elements of evidence-based urban MCH programs
  • MCH leadership, quality improvement and return on investment strategies
  • New national/federal public health recommendations
  • Opportunities to develop analytic skills and the knowledge base to promote the effectiveness of MCH programs and policies.
