Commitment Packets Due July 31

"One of the lessons of true leadership is mentorship...[Sustainability] begins with an openness for including and supporting the passions around you." - Maxine Hayes, State Health Officer, Washington State Department of Health, interview found on: http://www.jhsph.edu/wchpc/MCHLDS/interviews.html, Maternal and Child Health Leadership Skills Development Series.

What is MENTORING?

  • Mentors and the person being mentored are usually in the same field or have followed a similar career path.
  • Mentors assist with networking and making valuable connections.
  • In the Mentor/Mentee relationship, the mentor is the true "expert."
  • The focus of the Mentor/Mentee relationship is career success, advancement, and intergenerational exchange of ideas.
