CityLeaders Schedule of Events and Program Objectives
"Introduction to CityLeaders" Conference Call: August 2011
Objectives:
  • Prepare CityLeaders for their onsite experience at the CityMatCH conference
  • Engage CityLeaders with one another in order to build initial networking relationships
  • Provide logistical information regarding the CityLeaders cohort (i.e. conference call numbers, syllabus for the 8 month training program)

Onsite CityLeaders Meetings at the CityMatCH Conference: September 17-20, 2011
Objectives:

  • Gain skills in leadership development
  • Network with emerging and mid-level urban MCH professionals
  • Exchange ideas and strategies with designated senior urban MCH leaders (Mentors)
  • Receive guidance on navigating the CityMatCH conference
  • Distill and share lessons learned from the CityMatCH conference with other emerging and mid-level urban MCH leaders
  • Receive tailored mentoring and coaching from senior urban MCH leaders (Mentors)
  • Offer input into content of future trainings held through distance learning technologies following the conference

Distance Education: October 2011-February 2012
Objectives:

  • Increase individual knowledge in selected domains of urban MCH leadership
  • Develop an Individual Leadership Action Plan (ILAP)
  • Comment twice a month on weekly forum questions posted on the Ning networking site
  • Meet with fellow small group members

Mentoring Opportunities: October 2011-March 2012
Objectives:

  • Receive tailored mentoring and coaching from senior urban MCH leaders (Mentors)
  • Exchange ideas and strategies with designated senior urban MCH leaders (Mentors)

"CityLeaders Send-off" Conference Call: March 2012
Objectives:

  • Share outcomes from Individual Leadership Action Plans (ILAPs)
  • Learn new information about additional MCH leadership competencies not otherwise covered during CityLeaders
  • Celebrate and graduate CityLeaders Participants
  • Onsite CityLeaders Meetings at the CityMatCH Conference
