Health Care Reform: Preparing Local Health Departments for Change on the Horizon

This webcast considers current and proposed approaches to health care reform. The National Academy for State Health Policy describe implications around workforce shortages and workforce planning, capacity, the safety net, underserved populations (including rural access) and the importance of collaborations and open communication in a changing environment. The National Conference of State Legislators will provide the legislative update: highlight proposed bills, amendments and laws. Local perspectives around keeping the concerns of rural public health at the forefront during change will be featured during the practice presentation.
